FAST FADING ECHOES
they taught me to share all I had
with them
I did
and I got nothing in return

came with the abruptness of a fiery gun
and spoke of cosmic equations
the equations of sound similarity
a secret code of eternal elasticity
clear only to those meant to live beyond

and use it as a shield against the
pretenders
of the fast-fading
echoes
